Bible Passage(s): Genesis 41:1 – 16
Memory Verse: “And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it. And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.” Genesis 41:15-16
The story quoted in the Bible passage above came about at a very critical period in the life of Egypt and indeed the world at that time.
Pharaoh, King of Egypt had a set of dreams which to him were very fearful and he sought for men to interpret the dream for him. However none of the magicians or wise men of Egypt could interpret the dream. Then came on the scene, a mere prisoner who was reputed for having the ability to understand and interpret dreams: Joseph the son of Jacob, a Hebrew boy, who had at one time served as slave to Potiphar, captain of the guard of Pharaoh. He was brought right out of prison to Pharaoh, and when Pharaoh interrogated him concerning his ability to understand and interpret dreams, Joseph replied and made that prophetic statement, ‘God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace’. The Lord is bringing us this message for a second time this year. We will recall that this story was the basis of the Message of Grace for March this year. I believe this is for a purpose.
The Lord has brought this same word to us today, that we will receive an answer of peace regarding whatever situations or circumstances that may confront us this month or may be confronting us right now. The word comes to us personally and corporately as a people. We will receive an answer of peace as a people and a nation in this month of July in Jesus name.
However in doing so, I must sound a note of warning! We have to mind our utterances and conversations. We must guide our mouth from negative confessions and rumor mongering. Our utterances and conversations should build and not destroy lives. We must not join in spreading words or rumors that have no veracity. We should think through and determine if such information is true, makes sense and/or if they are words that builds and will not destroy (Philippians 4:8). Many of us will receive information about certain things this month. We are to handle such with care before we broadcast. As Colossians 4:6 says – ‘Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how to answer everyone’. The Lord will be with you throughout this month of perfection in Jesus name.
Our nation Nigeria is presently passing through a very critical and difficult period in her history. Let us continue to pray that the Lord will bring to us in Nigeria an answer of peace, that peace, harmony and tranquility will reign in our land. Pray that you will be a part of the solution and not the problem. Our God will help you and help Nigeria in Jesus name. Amen.
The Lord bless and keep you, may He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, now and forevermore.
Have a most blessed month.
