Bible Passage: Ezekiel 12: 21 – 28

Memory Verse: ”Say to them, ‘The days are near when every vision will be fulfilled. For there will be no more false visions or flattering divination among the people of Israel. But I the LORD will speak what I will, and it shall be fulfilled without delay. For in your days, you rebellious house, I will fulfill whatever I say, declares the Sovereign LORD. NIV” Ezekiel 12:23-25

This is a season of God’s visitation to mankind! He is visiting us both individually, collectively as a nation and the whole world in general. It is expected that this will be accompanied with signs and wonders. As such, in this season, we have to be sensitive to the spirit of the Lord and play our part.

This we will do by separating ourselves to seek the face of the Lord and receive directions and instructions from Him. As we do so, we have to ensure that we obey and follow the directions and instructions that the Lord gives us.

You will recall that, at the beginning of the year we received a word from the Lord, declaring this year as our year of remembrance. In the Bible passage quoted above in verses 22 and 23, Prophet Ezekiel says, The word of the LORD came to me: saying \”Son of man, what is this proverb you have in the land of Israel: ‘The days go by and every vision comes to nothing’? Our lives and existence hitherto may have been characterized by failed and delayed visions and aspirations. It may appear that many of the prophesies we have received from God, have either failed or have not come to pass. The proverb may be summarizing our experience in life hitherto thus: ‘The days go by and every vision comes to nothing? It seems that we have been forgotten and nothing we do turns out right. We may have been buffeted all around by Satan and his cohorts. Our experience has been that of what the Yoruba in Nigeria call ‘amubo’, that is, we are unable to hold on to anything. Whatever we do or attempt to do never turns out well. Every promise and prophesy of God for our lives seem not to see the light of the day. We are frustrated, disillusioned and we go around as if in a daze, running in circles!

The same can be said of our nation Nigeria. Yes there have been numerous wonderful prophesies regarding Nigeria and what her role will be in the plan of God for humanity. Alas, everyday, it seems the vision is receding and many has failed!

However, in all these, the message for us this month is that we should not faint or lose heart. We should note this for sure: ‘The days are near when every vision will be fulfilled. For there will be no more false visions or flattering divination among the people of Israel. But I the LORD will speak what I will, and it shall be fulfilled without delay. For in your days, you rebellious house, I will fulfill whatever I say, declares the Sovereign LORD.’ This is what the Sovereign LORD says: None of my words will be delayed any longer; whatever I say will be fulfilled, declares the Sovereign LORD.’ Ezekiel 12: 23-25, 28. Therefore hold on steadfastly. This is the time to bring yourself to a closer relationship with God and stay close to Him so that you can receive directions as to what to do to bring to pass His plans, purpose and vision for your life.

The Lord bless you and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, now and forevermore. Have a splendid month.

Prayer Points

1. Thank the Lord for this time of His visitation to mankind. Pray that you will not miss out of what He is going to do in this season.

2. Pray that the Lord will give you a heart that hears and obeys His words. That whatever faults are in you which may cause you to miss out of this season, the Lord will root out, refine and restore you. So that you will be appropriately positioned for these times.

3. Pray that the proverb which says, ”The days go by and every vision comes to nothing” will be set aside in your life.

4. Declare that the time to favor you, yes the set time for the performance of all that the Lord has spoken concerning your life has come to pass. Your visions will be fulfilled and you will enter into the plan and purpose of God for your life.
