Bible Passage(s): Psalm 46
Memory Verse: “The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” Psalm 46:11
The Covid-19 pandemic that is ravaging the world right now does not appear to be letting off! As some countries feel they have gotten past the peak and relax restrictions to movement, the thing rears its head again, with rising infections accompanied by deaths. Thus sending panic around the world. Efforts by our doctors and scientists at finding a cure has not met with the desired and expected success. It is being said that this pandemic may be with us for many months, if not years. The economy of many nations is in shambles! Businesses are crumbling and social life has been irredeemably distorted. There is fear and despair all over the world!
In the midst of this, I want to remind us of the word of God to us at the beginning of this year in the Message of Grace for January 2020: Then God says to Moses, “I have seen the affliction of my people in Egypt and I have heard their cry! I know their sorrows! I am come down to deliver!” – That is the Glory of God! Whether we see God, whether we realise the Power that He has, God IS here! Whatever the sin of the people, whatever the suffering, God IS here – in Power! Despite the unbelief and sin – God has NOT forsaken His people! God will NEVER leave you, whatever your circumstances, however great the battle – God IS ALREADY here!
Therefore, in spite of all the goings on right now, our unlimited God is faithful. He remains our refuge and fortress. He is with us. He will rescue us and bring an end to the affliction of the world. God says His children shall find safety, security and rest in Him. When they obey and abide in the vine, He will place His shield of protection around them and deliver them from the present situation. Please play your part and abide within the fortress He has mounted around us. Yes the world is in turmoil right now, but His children who abide in the fortress will have the experience of Goshen. Whoever dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty (Psalm 91:1). The Lord is your refuge and fortress, but you have to trust and obey Him. Stay within the stronghold; your fortified place of safety and rest. It is well with you.
May the Lord bless and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you. May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, now and forevermore. Amen.
Prayer
O! Lord! keep me in the fortress, where I am protected. Be my shield and buckler. Keep me safe in these perilous times, in Jesus mighty name.
The Lord is with you, the mighty warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing. The Lord will have mercy on you and grant you favor, safety and protection.
