Isaiah 61: 1 – 11
Memory Verse: “The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me ……., to
……. provide for those who grieve in Zion, to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and garment of praise instead of the spirit of despair.” Isa 61:1 – 3 NKJV
Just as the lockdown for Covid-19 pandemic was coming on us in Nigeria, I received the following poem, with the above title, in my sleep. I feel it is apt for the times and will encourage us as we enter into the second half of the year.
There is Gold beneath the dirt!
Don’t let the superficial weigh you down.
Dig deep and faint not,
Soon you will reach the layer of gold!
There is beauty beyond the ugliness!
There is joy after the pains.
Persevere, don’t give up,
The prize comes in a short while!
There is light after the darkness!
Ray of hope shining through the tunnel of darkness.
Don’t be distracted,
Beauty comes after the ashes!
Joy will spring forth at the rise of dawn!
Don’t let the façade of ugliness
Distract you from pushing forward.
Jubilation is coming after the storm!
There is gold beneath the dirt,
If you faint not!
Believe your God, have faith,
Your joy comes in morning!
May the Lord bless and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you, May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, now and forevermore. Amen.
Prayer
“Dear Jesus, I place my life like bread in Your hand. Only you can return me to my origin. Only you can carry me to my destiny. Jesus You are the author and finisher of my faith.” Please carry me on.

This month, God would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God. Have a glorious month.
