Isaiah 61: 1- 11

Memory Verse:  After this, Jesus traveled about from one town and village to another, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom of God. The Twelve were with him, and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out; Luke 8:1 – 2

This month the Lord wants to fulfil the scripture quoted in the reference passage of this message to you and me. The Lord has proclaimed this as our month of good news. As it happened in Samaria, when BenHadad king of Syria mobilized his entire army and marched up and laid siege to Samaria, there was a great famine in the city (II Kings 6: 24 – 25), you may also be going through a period of famine and drought. You know, famine and drought may not only be due to lack of food or water, it can also refer to every area of life in which you are suffering lack; be it in the area of your health or that of your loved ones, lack of gainful employment, debts, no joy, no peace, trouble all around. On the national and international level, the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic also brings about lack. Lack of freedom to go around as we used to, fear of infection and even the reality of being infected itself. However, the Word of the Lord is coming to us this month, as recorded in the book of  Nahum 1:15, Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your festivals, Judah, and fulfill your vows. No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed. Amen.

Our deliverance has come and we will be set free of all that troubles us this month. Therefore as “Elijah said to Ahab, Go up, eat and drink; for there is the sound of abundance of rain.” (1 Kings 18:41). Rain of the abundance of all that you lack is around the corner! Prepare yourself to receive it and it is yours in Jesus mighty name.

Therefore as our Lord Jesus Christ went about proclaiming the Good News, this month He will come to you with the good news which you have so long desired and have been waiting for. Deliverance has come! Our captivity is about to be turned around! We shall rejoice in the Lord our God and be glad!

May the Lord bless and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you, May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, now and forevermore. Amen.

Prayer:

Sing this song as thanksgiving to the Lord, ‘Thank you for the rain, thank you for the latter rain. Healing the sick, confirming your Word, thank you for the later rain.’
