Messages of Grace

Memory Verse: 14  “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15  Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16  In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14 – 16

When an item or good is set apart, it becomes an uncommon product. All eyes are on it and it is a source of attraction to all. Jesus, as recorded in the Memory verse, said to his disciples – as the light of the world, they are like a town built on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same vein Apostle Peter was also on record as saying to believers; “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” 1 Peter 2:9.

The children of Israel experienced uncommon miracles on their way to the Promised Land that really set them apart amongst the nations, to the extent that the fear of them was upon all the nations. One of the first was the miracle of crossing of the Red Sea. This miracle confirms that God will cause a change in the course of events in order to bless and deliver His people. Another uncommon miracle came about when the Israelites were fighting the Amorites. As recorded in the book of Joshua 10:12-13, God acceded to Joshua’s command, when he: “…… spoke to the LORD in the day when the LORD delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel: “Sun, stand still over Gibeon; And Moon, in the Valley of Aijalon.” 13  So the sun stood still, And the moon stopped, Till the people had revenge Upon their enemies.” That was perhaps the first time, in my view, when God obeyed the command of man, and Joshua was thus set apart and highly respected in the eyes of Israel and the people round about them.

I believe even more that God is still in the business of performing uncommon miracles for His people, even in our contemporary times, which will show them off as a people set apart and they become the cynosure of all eyes, radiating the glory of God.

This month, God is performing incredible miracles in our lives that will set us apart and show us off as His chosen people. Psalm 110 verse 3 says that, “In that day of your power your people shall come to you willingly, dressed in holy altar robes. And your strength shall be renewed day by day like morning dew” These are the days of God’s power, let us be ready to be arrayed on His holy mountain, dressed in holy robes that set us apart to radiate His glory and splendor.

May the Lord bless and keep you. May He make His face to shine upon you and be gracious unto you, May the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace, now and forevermore. Amen.

Prayer: Dear Father God, I pray that your grace shall find me and abound in my life, family and the entire nation this month and for the rest of the year, in Jesus mighty name.

This month, God shall set you apart! Like a city set on a hill, you shall not be hidden. Your light shall shine brightly for all to see the beauty, goodness and glory of God in your life. They shall praise the Lord on your behalf. I wish you a happy New Month.
