Bible Passage: 1 Timothy 6:6-10
Memory Verse; "Now godliness with contentment is great gain." 1 Timothy 6:6
This message is an extract from my book, ‘Godliness with Contentment, Great Gain’’. As we enter the last half of this year 2016, I feel this message is very apt for this season in our lives and in the world generally. Almost on a daily basis, we are inundated with the news, particularly in our country Nigeria, of billions of Naira being recovered or traced to some past political leaders. Apart from that, we see in man today great craze to acquire wealth.

Bible Passage: 1 Timothy 6:6-10
Bible Passage : Psalm 126
Memory Verse; "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:"May those who love you be secure. May there be peace within your walls and security within your citadels." For the sake of my brothers and friends, I will say, "Peace be within you." Ps 122:6-8 NIV
Nigeria is going through tumultuous times politically, economically and socially! There is, as it were, a war of attrition going on! Agitations for self determination is going on. We have the IPOB; who are fighting for the actualization of the Biafra. The Niger Delta Avengers, who are attacking the economic base of the nation and have virtually shut down the oil production facilities of the nation.
Bible Passage : 2 Corinthians 8: 1 - 15
Memory Verse; "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.'' 2 Corinthians 13:14 NIV
Grace is an act of favour and goodwill that is freely given, not as a right. It can also be defined as God's mercy and favour towards mankind. At all levels, Grace comes from God. He is the sole author and giver of Grace and because He is gracious, He can also empower us to give Grace to others. So within the body of faith, we can enjoy grace directly from God and also from each other as God empowers us. Grace is therefore not only about receiving, we are also to give grace to each other, so that the Grace of God towards us can continue to abound.
Bible Passage : Habakkuk 2: 1 - 4
Memory Verse; "Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.'' Hab 2:4NKJV
True righteousness before God is limited to genuine faith in the Lord. A proud person relies on self or ego, power, position and accomplishments, whereas a righteous person relies on the Lord. The righteous person is just in his dealings with God and man. He is upright and strives to live a holy life, in spite of the contradictions that face him daily.
Bible Passage(s): Exodus 14
Memory Verse: "Then the Lord said to Moses, "Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on. Raise your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea to divide the water so that the Israelites can go through the sea on dry ground." Exodus 14:15-16 NIV
Last month we read in this same passage that, as the children of Israel embarked on their journey from Egypt to the promised land, Pharaoh and the Egyptians, realising the implication of letting Israel go, decided to get them back by all means. So when the children of Israel saw the Egyptians approaching fast, pursuing after them, they panicked and cried out to the Lord, complaining against Moses, and querying the wisdom in bringing them out of slavery to 'die in the wilderness'.

Hold Your Peace!
Bible Passage(s): Exodus 14
Memory Verse: "And Moses said to the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The LORD will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace." Exodus 14:13-14
The story of the children of Israel as they commenced their journey from Egypt to the promised land is very apt for this season and the second month of the year 2016. As the children of Israel left Egypt, it soon dawned on Pharaoh and the Egyptians the implication of letting them go! They asked themselves in verses 5 and 6: "Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?" Then they pursued them with 'six hundred choice chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt with captains over every one of them.' This in a bid to get them back into slavery in Egypt.

Bible Passage: Psalm 12
Memory Verse: “For the oppression of the poor, for the sighing of the needy, Now I will arise, ''says the Lord; I will set him in the safety for which he yearns''' Psalm 12:5
Welcome to the month of December; the month that marks the end of a year and heralds in a new one. So as we prepare for the festivities and transit into the new year, the Lord brought to us this month a message of hope and assurance. The year 2015 has indeed been a very eventful one for us, individually and collectively. Individually, many of us faced challenges too numerous to recount. Corporately, many nations experienced both good and bad times. Economically, the world witnessed a downturn and scarcity of funds was the order of the day.

Bible Passage(s): Jeremiah 18: 1 - 10
Memory Verse: “Then the word of the Lord came to me: "O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter does?" declares the Lord. "Like clay in the hand of the potter, so are you in my hand, O house of Israel.'' Jer 18:5-6 NIV
Jesus Christ makes the most difference in our lives! Just like water makes the difference as an item without which human life can exist, so is Jesus Christ, the source of salvation and life.

Bible Passage(s): 1 Peter 2: 18 - 25
Memory Verse: “ For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us,* leaving us* an example, that you should follow His steps'' 1 Peter 2:21
Following in the steps of Christ means yielding yourself as His disciple; walking in the way He walked. A disciple of Christ is one who lives out his life in accordance with the understanding of what it means to be a follower of Christ. He is one who has given his life to Jesus Christ and thereby make deliberate effort to imitate Him and do what He does.
Jesus Christ at the end of His life, in Matthew 28 verses 19 - 20, charged His disciples: ''Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:'' Therefore, as disciples of Christ, we have the mandate/commission to go into the world and make disciples of both men and women

Bible Passage(s): Psalm 103: 1-10
Memory Verse: “Praise the LORD, O my soul all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the LORD, O my soul and forget not all his benefits —'' Ps 103:1-2 NIV
This is a Psalm of praise, written by King David to demonstrate and acknowledge the wisdom of God and praise Him for His many benefits, ongoing mercy, His transcendent glory and gentle care, which He has bestowed upon him. The psalmist therefore enjoined us to bless the Lord with all our soul and all that is within us. That is every fiber of our being.
Indeed we have many things for which to praise and bless the Lord. Though our situation, sometimes may appear bleak and we do not feel like praising Him, David still enjoins us to praise Him all the same. ....
Bible Passage(s): Habakkuk 3:17 - 19
Memory Verse: “Unto thee, O my strength, will I sing: for God is my defence, and the God of my mercy ''. Psalm 59:17
As we pass through the days and the months of year 2015 and gradually move towards the end of it, the Lord wants to bring us a message of hope and reassurance this month of August. The year, thus far has been quite eventful for our nation Nigeria and indeed for us individually and collectively.

Bible Passage(s): Isaiah 58: 12 -14
Memory Verse: “And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called, The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in''. Isa 58:12
This month, I feel that the Lord is calling us once again to address the issue of Restoration. Restoration comes in various and diverse dimensions; in the physical as well as the spiritual realm.
